Frecuencia Latinoamerica announces Mobile Mexico and Central America Summit 2010, MMCS, the conference focalized in the present and future of the Mexican and Central American telecommunications markets.
According The Competitive Intelligence Unit, more than half of telecommunications revenue in Mexico belong to the mobile segment, representing 55.1% of the sector.
However, the country is lagging behind in mobile service penetration, compared with others Latin America countries -79% vs a regional average of 91%. Mexico is also lagging behind in 3G services adoption, while the regional average is 4% in Mexico reachs 1.5% (3G Americas).
Facing this market situation, the mobile industry finds that value added services and mobile broadband technologies are the main partners to offer and enhance new and profitable products and servicies. ComScore Inc stated that the social network growth in Mexico in 2009 has been significant: Facebook use increased to 145% and Twitter 935%. Moreover, Mexican and Brazilian social networks consumers are the more likely to spend time online, averaging 28 hours per month.
For these reasons, players such as brands and the advertising industry are the key partners for future business. According MS&L Group (June), the brands believe that they will be deeply influenced by mobile social networks. Queried about which network will have the greatest influence, 17% said it will be the ones used in mobile phones and 12% mention networks based in location services.
Likewise, traditional content offerings such as video or games, are facing the challenge of repeating their success by taking advantage of new technologies and business models. Juniper Research forecasts that revenues from mobile adult content and services are expected to reach $2.8 billion by 2015, driven primarily through the uptake of video chat and subscription-based services.
The VAS market situation needs dynamic and flexible business models and offers, which enable quick differentiation from competitors. Virtual application stores are tools that perform (according Yankee Group, the revenues from mobile downloads of applications will be in 2014 of 11 000 millions dolars), but not without significant challenges.
If you want to share your benchmarks and experience, this is the time to submit a speaker proposal.
Register today and ensure your place in this pioneer and unique conference exclusively devoted to Number Portability in the Latinamerican market.
